Comics for 10/4/06
Slow week made slower by my embarassing lateness. Anyway:
- 52 #22
- Detective Comics #824
- Street Fighter Legends: Sakura #2 (of 4)
I suggest you continue reading!
Published on time! Congratulations again! My other thoughts on 52 are here.
Detective Comics #824
Just above average. Batman fans won’t be disappointed, but it’s not groundbreaking. Dini’s run on Detective Comics hasn’t lived up to the potential in his first two issues, but this is at least a step back in the right direction after the embarassment of a comic we got last month.
Street Fighter Legends: Sakura #2 (of 4)
Catering to an already small audience (dedicated Street Fighter fans), I’m not sure why whoever calls the shots on this comic decided to narrow things down even more with a Sakura comic. I suppose if you’re interested enough to read a Street Fighter comic at all, you’ll read this anyway, but you’ll probably be asking yourself the same question. Happily, it’s a fun read as long as you’re not offended by Zangief as comic relief (poor Adam), and it maintains the high standard of art from the rest of the Street Fighter comics. I really love Udon Studios.
